The Tesla Punk 86W mod is the newest, initially and just stick style managed mod from longtime producer teslacigs. They aren’t too well known however have a little appeal with their punk line of mods like the punk 220w and punk nano which i examined both and they make a quite good mod for power mode. The Punk 86W is a single 18650 86 watt stick design mod which has been uncommon these days.

Initial Impressions and functions.
When I first got this Mod, I was quite delighted to see a stick style mod. Not a great deal of controlled stick mods these days are being commonly made and budget-friendly. This is my fourth one in the past year along with the ehpro 101, joyetech ultex T80 and uwell nunchaku. The Punk though is more styled per se and less of a simple tube like the other which some may or might not like. Personally i always liked the steampunk designs on their mods and this one is no various. It looks fantastic and i enjoy that it’s provided in copper and brass which is 2 colors we don’t see on mods that typically these days. One odd thing i felt considering that companies are pushing items for larger batteries is why they made it 18650 only. I think they missed out on an opportunity to make it a single 2×700 mod rather. Total though i liked the mod from the start.
Watt Mode Performance (chart and spreadsheet in image album).
Now let’s get into some data. I ran my regular testing. I utilized Sony VTC5A batteries for the screening. Evaluating resistances were done at.12,.15,.2, and.62 ohms. wattage points were max (86 ), 80, 60, 40, and 20. At.12 ohms it maxed out at 83 watts and 26 amps. For the remainder of the screening it was on the low side somewhat 2-3 watts, other than at 20 where it was 1 high so all great there. At.15 it maxed out at 85 watts. Outside of that just off by 1-2 watts at even worse. For the.2 test it maxed out at 89 watts. The remainder of the tests it was on the mark though for all the screening which is dam great. For the.62 screening it maxed out at 87 watts and 7.363 volts. For the rest of the screening it was 3 high at 80, on point at 60, and 1 low under 60. The volts reveals there is an increase circuit in this mod like all single battery mods must have.
Total I felt the efficiency of this mod was truly great. It hardly had a hard time with the.12 ohm construct which is common for a lot of mods at that resistance to struggle a bit it was very accurate general specifically at.2 ohm. General good rankings, great specs, and good performance extremely similar to that of the 2 much better stick mods i’ve evaluated in the ultex T80 and nunchaku.
Simplified TLDR Power Efficiency summary.
Mod performance is great. Primarily strikes couple of watts off often low sometimes high. Precisely rated for watts (89 ), Yes improve circuit, amp limit of 26+. Volts evaluated at 7.363+ so good task and you generally get the complete watt range at all the tested resistances like most single battery mods.
Bypass Mode Efficiency.
I normally do not evaluate for bypass modes in mods as i consider them to be pretty useless, however because this mod doesn’t have TC mode, only bypass and watts i figured why not. When in bypass mode, the mod carries out like you would anticipate from a great mech mod. The numbers are on the chart in the album but at.2 ohms you get 60 watts, at.15 ohm 71 watts, and at.12 ohm 72 watts. It’s excellent if you want to use it to discover how to construct for a mech heat flux smart, but beyond that like any bypass mode, you are better off using power mode instead.
Other Usage Notes.
The mod utilizes a standard 5 click to turn the mod on or off. You utilize 3 clicks to swap between the 2 modes which is just power and bypass. Really basic and easy to utilize so no complaints there. The Tesla Punk 86W adjusts by.5 watt increments the entire watt variety (7-86) and holding it makes it scroll truly quick. I love that personally and in general well done there and fast and easy to change. The mod itself is constructed solid with no rattle at all, and has a great weight to it where it’s not heavy however not too light. The Battery door is a screw off bottom and the threading is all good so it’s simple to screw and unscrew to swap batteries out. It’s single 18650 only I wish they made it single 2×700 personally.
There paint on the mod is extremely good. The screen is a basic and little old style black and white screen and while I would have liked something nicer personally, it’s quite much the very same as the one on the other 3 stick mods so can’t actually complain as there isn’t a stick mod out with a better screen. They list a charging rate of 1A and i do not advise charging internally in your mods if it can be avoided however i did test it and confirmed it is 1A charging, however that is for info functions just to check their claims.
Power mode performance.
Properly rated for watts.
good amp limit.
batteries are easy to get in and out without harmful covers.
great fire button.
manages 25mm atomizers without overhang.
simple to adjust wattage rapidly.
color alternatives (4 ).
Easy to use Menu (simple 2 modes just bypass and wattage).
rare managed stick mod.
Lovely Steampunk style design.
cost point (under 35 dollars).
slight button rattle on fire button.
So with all that said, do I recommend this mod or not? I do not like to do a difficult yes or no but this one leans pretty heavy towards the yes. Efficiency sensible it’s right on par with the nunchaku and ultex T80 mods so offers another excellent alternative where you can choose the style you like best (simple nunchaku, futuristic ultex, steampunk tesla). Regrettable it wasn’t a 2×700 mod or that cold have made it stand out a lot more. i’ll be including it to my sheet of recs linked down below.
This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, ideally you all can say the very same and i’ll capture you on my next review.

I do my best to be extensive at all times and have adequate experience with lots of items to tell what’s excellent and what’s not. All mods get evaluated with an oscilloscope and tension checked and outcomes are posted in my evaluations.
